The School Experience Day 2024 at Methodist College was an exceptional opportunity for primary school students. The event, which took place on our school campus on Saturday, 6 July 2024, was a remarkable success. Out of over 140 participants in our Virtual School Experience 2024 (between 15 and 21 June), 32 Primary 5 students from 16 primary schools were selected to attend four educational and fun-filled lessons in English: Home Economics, Science, STEM, and Visual Arts.

The lessons were carefully curated by our esteemed teachers to be both informative and engaging. Each lesson featured a variety of activities designed to challenge our young guests and encourage their creativity. To ensure our guests had a fulfilling learning experience, our teachers designed and prepared numerous activities for each lesson, such as making a balancing bird in Physics lesson, creating a pastry in Home Economics lesson, generating own portrait using AI tool in STEM lesson and making digital art in Visual Arts lesson. Our student helpers in different lessons, who were dedicated and caring, provided invaluable assistance to the participants, guiding them through the tasks and ensuring their success.

Apart from the lessons, our school ambassadors provided exemplary support to our primary guests. Divided into two teams, Modesty and Caring, our ambassadors accompanied the participants throughout the event, playing little games with them and engaging them with questions about secondary school life, hobbies, and opinions on the lessons. They also provided support and care for the attendees, guiding them to the restroom and reminding them to bring their personal belongings after each lesson.

Our ambassadors received praise from teachers and parents for their dedication and caring spirit. They humbly thanked the school and expressed their joy in serving the guests. In a questionnaire conducted after the lessons, all primary guests found the four lessons very helpful in understanding secondary school learning. They enjoyed the lessons greatly and found them very interesting. 

We at Methodist College are proud to have hosted such a wonderful event for our young guests. We believe that the School Experience Day 2024 will be a cherished memory for all who attended, and we hope to continue to inspire and encourage young minds in the years to come.
