Overseas Leadership Training ‹ BACK
During the Easter Holiday, a group of students from F.1 to F.5 had the golden opportunity to travel to Taiwan for the Overseas Leadership Training Programme from 24th-31st of March, 2016. We had a great time and created lots of wonderful and awesome memories during the trip. This remarkable journey not only widened our eyes and broke down the barriers in our minds, but also further developed our personal growth and leadership capacity.

We had lots of unforgettable moments with our mates and teachers in Kaohsiung, Tainan and Taipei. We visited many famous and attractive scenic spots, including: the Pier-2 Art Center in Kaohsiung; Chihkan Tower and Hayashi Department Store in Tainan; Pingxi Line, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and Taipei 101 in Taiwan. Due to the tight schedule, there was not much time to stay in every place that we visited, but we still enjoyed each place we went. Apart from visiting the aforementioned spots, visiting several schools, including secondary schools and universities, also brought inspiration to us. During these visits, we took part in activities and had the chance to talk with the two distinct groups of students. As a result, we learnt the differences in the learning attitude, learning atmosphere and school culture between Hong Kong and Taiwan. These moments both broadened and affected our perspective.

This journey further developed our personal growth, from basic life skills such as the ability to take care of ourselves and communication skills, to advanced skills which included a sense of responsibility, problem-solving skills and leadership capacity. Staying with our mates, who are both unique in character and come from different forms, we learnt how to get along with people and respect their opinions when they are not similar to ours. Being a member of this trip, we each shouldered the responsibility for helping the trip run smoothly, so we needed to be punctual, play our own role and learn to solve problems by ourselves. As one highlight of this year’s trip was that there was no assigned leader in each group, everyone had chances to lead the group and face the difficulties of being a leader in order to learn leadership skills and develop our leadership capacity along the way.

This trip was marvelous and memorable and brought us a meaningful experience of exultant memories. We gained lots of experiences to not only widen our scope of sight, but also develop our personal growth.
