F1 Adventure-based training ‹ BACK
Last week, I went to the F.1 Adventure Camp with my classmates and teachers at the Jockey Club Tai Tong Holiday Camp.
In the morning, on the first day, we played games in the school hall. In the afternoon, we designed some posters and slogans in groups. In the evening, we enjoyed an orienteering activity at the campsite. Some groups finished the tasks faster than other groups, as the people in those groups always helped and encouraged one another. Moreover, they were respectful to each other when they discussed things. I have learnt that “In unity there is strength”. A group of people with the same goal can accomplish more than individuals can. The games were exciting and fascinating. I was delighted.
On the second day, the morning’s activity was the rope course. Each of us was expected to climb the web. Before we started climbing, some instructors taught us how to use the safety equipment properly. The web was about ten meters tall. I was very nervous and frightened. I climbed the web with my friend, Vanysa. She held my hand so I felt comfortable. She encouraged me, by saying, “Don’t be scared. You can do it.” Soon after, I tried my best to climb the web cautiously. We climbed to the fourth level successfully in ten minutes. Our class teachers took photos of and praised us. I was over the moon. Two people working together can solve a problem quicker and better than a person working alone. It’s really true what they say: two heads are better than one. Once all students in our class had finished climbing the web, the class teachers, Ms. Yick and Ms. Wong also tried to climb it. All the classmates cheered, as they could climb the web very well.
I was on cloud nine, since the camp was such an eye opener. I have learnt how to climb the web and overcome my nervousness. I was grateful to have great classmates and teachers who supported me. It really was an unforgettable experience.
