2015 UK Immersion Programme ‹ BACK
Honored to be given the opportunity to join the 2015 Immersion Program to the United Kingdom, we had a truly fruitful 14-day trip in Woodhouse Grove School (WGS), Leeds, from 23rd June to 7th July. Staying in the boarding houses in WGS, we had lessons with the year 12 there on weekdays and went out to town on weekends.

Experiencing the school life in the UK benefited us the most. We could try electives like English Literature, Psychology, Politics and Drama, which we cannot study in HK. It was, therefore, a fabulous opportunity for us to explore our interests towards other subjects. What also impressed us was the learning atmosphere. Students there were a lot more enthusiastic and attentive, and lessons there were like discussion sessions between teachers and students.

Apart from attending school lessons, we travelled to places like Saltaire, York and the city of Leeds to explore the British culture. We were fascinated to have a taste of their culture in such aspects as food, religion, architecture, values and beliefs, etc.

To sum up, this UK Immersion Program is definitely an eye-opener for all of us. Not only did we broaden our horizons, but we also learnt to embrace cultural diversity. Granted, sky is the limit of knowledge. Only by stepping out of our comfort zone can we challenge our limits and deepen our insight.
